Arachnophobia - Graphic Novel

A short, expository graphic novel piece centered on an unnamed humanoid spider being.

The moodiness of the scenes acts as a contrast to the protagonist’s optimistic personality while also acting as a parallel to the underlying despair and imprisonment of their current situation.

This piece plays with light and darkness without the use of color, with strong hatching throughout the panels to create a very moody environment.

The Arachnid plays the role of a sort of butler character; someone who thrives off helping others in need while they await the return of their mysterious master.

The story intends to cover more serious topics including racism/stereotyping, as well as mental health and feelings of denial and abandonment. The Arachnid has been alone for as long as they can remember and they fill the void they have with service towards others.
